Since the example workload is used in SKE test environments too we don't want to rely on a SKE specific endpoint for testing the example workload functionality.

What this PR does / why we need it:
Since the example workload is used in SKE test environments we don't
want to rely on a SKE specific endpoint for testing the example workload
functionality. For other usages of the example this change makes no difference.
